I agree ---- I think the momentum is slowing down...
at least can we not take any legal action for issuing out a rule (you can file MFS and get the stimuls and then amend MFJ) on 04/14/2008??? what about people who filed a long time ago as MFJ?? Because once you filed MFJ, the action is irrevocable!?! In my honest opinion, this stupidity of issuing out a clause the day before filing deadline deserves some "stir"!!

To be frank there was momemtum and energy missing in DC and other states before the rally! I think there are many ignorant, many not willing and many not up to giving a day!
Have we tried to educate them about their situation today ..
IF many of us have been able to file I485 in JULY then its 'coz of IV and ONLY IV!!
If we stress on IV's acheivements .. eg. flower campaign & San jose Rally and outcome of these..Reversal of Visa Bulletin then I think people will try to understand..
Tell you what people with PD in the last 2 yrs have not shown up in big numbers! Only with PD as late as 2001,02,03,04,05 have been able to evaluate the seriuosness of the whole GC thing & able to visualise the waiting frustrations!! Lets bring in more of the recent yrs PD people so that they know HOW LUCKY they are Just 'coz of IV!!
I think most of PD's with 05, 06, 07 got a chance to apply I-485 and may be they thought tht they got their GC by applying I-485. There's no doubt CIR is going to be brought in this year. How much of it or any of it will get passed, is the issue. Congress, as last year is determined to amalgamate us with the illegals so they can freely oppose the bill and indirectly kill both kind of immigration. I think we should put all our resources towards lobbying and make as many friends on the hill as possible.

Could someone please refer a Do-it-yourself kit that they have used and/or immigration consultant?
I contacted one consultant, they email almost every week and when I called/emailed them saying I am ready to pursue there has been no response from other side yet.

I see a lot of boiling blood and nice thoughts, If we can find out How much it would cost to pull out a Half page or Full Page AD on prominent news paper like NY Times or WSJ etc. Work on and create a fullpage/half page ad that would be a good start in opening eyes of congress/common people.

They have received G-28 and i saw my present attorney address which is good. Because my present attorney will receive the denial notice.
2nd, The AC21 letter never reached them..... Somehow blackhole swallowed it....

You came here 6 years ago and applied for your GC only in 2010. Didnt you find an employer who would file one for you. And you also know if your GC gets screwed for some reason, then you are out of the US also.

I understand that if a lot of EB3 guys, who have been waiting for years, start porting to EB2, they will end up in the queue before me :(. And with that knowledge, I will still support EB3-EB2 porting.
EB3 guys, porting is your best option. I hear a lot of EB2 asking you to go get a new job where they are willing to
a. Hire you with your H1B status,
b. Agree to file your GC, and
c. Agree to do it in EB2 category. (Think about the min wage they have to give and prove etc.)
It is way easier said than done in the current economy. But if you find one, go for it. That is a way of respite for you folks. For others, try porting to EB2 with your current company.
There have been cases where EB3 was filed when the candidate was eligible for EB2 and there have been cases other way round too. But talking about none of them helps your cause. Similarly, fighting amongst us doesn't help either. Don't get me wrong if I say that with EB2 movement, if EB2 becomes current by the end of next year, EB3 will start seeing a good benefit of spill overs. So with current laws, getting EB2 out of the way will actually help your cause
Eliminating per country limit will help everyone. We should fight for that, EB3 and EB2 together.
Seriously try for porting. I have been waiting just a year, and already know how many decisions get put on hold because of this process.

My two friends are leaving.
They are completing six years. Their labour is approved. but I 140 is not approved.
They applied for their labour in sixth year.
Due to retrogression they are unable to apply for I 485 and EAD. They are working as DB2 DBA's.
They choose last option to leave the USA.

Fragomen took about 6 months in getting "prevailing wage info" for my case in 2001. My manager ( Canadian who had gone through US GC process himself) finally talked to them and asked them to file without waiting for DOL's reply on prevailing wage. (That was a risk but we agreed to take it at that point)
That six months delay costed me 6 years in GC processing ! But thanks to my manager , otherwise I dont know how many more years I would have waited.(One of my co-worker still awaits his labor cert !)
The big law firm goes by predefined steps , which are probably the safest way for most cases but may not be the fastest way. You need somebody who has been through this process and can understand and asks good questions to lawyers and can help lawyers to think for your perticular case. Check if you have somebody in your org to do that.

Me and my wife had each sent a letter on Feb 10 to the President and the IV PO Box. I did not see my id in the names of peeps who sent a letter.
