Hi,
I know that this is not a "Green card related" question but an important question that I hope someone will answer. I am planning to use EAD after my I140 approval and jump to consulting business. I have thought about Self-employment but it sounds like it is risky. Are there any good consulting companies which charge very less percentage for having me as an employee on EAD. I hope that company can send AC21 and continue my GC processing.

New numbers are out on H-1B usage and the past week showed last week's substantial pickup was just noise. Only 800 visas were claimed against the 65,000 cap, half of last week's total and somewhat less than the typical weekly usage we've seen over the summer. 37,400 H-1Bs have been counted now. I'm moving my exhaustion projection date back a week. My target is based on a rolling four week usage average so variations from week to week are discounted. Sorry for posting this question again. but since I did not get an answer, I am posting again to see if some one can advise regarding this. I am trying to look up dates for H1 visa stamping in Canada and the website says no appointments for 6 weeks. I am thinking of going for visa stamping in July. is there any chance that they might open up some more appointments in the next few days even though it says unavailable currently? please post your comments and experiences regarding this.

Gurus,
I wanted to see if anybody on a US visitor visa travelled from US (New York) to Canada and back on Amtrak. I have following questions.
1. Where do you surrender I-94 (at NY station or at the US border entering into Canada).
2. Amtrak's website does not say much about the entry to US in detail. If you can provide detail that would be very helpful. What if they do a detailed check on you and you miss the train, what are your options. I assume they give you a new I-94 at the US-Canada border when re-entering USA.
3. Any other useful information that you can provide will be helpful.

Hello,
It seems that I made a mistake in my DS-160 and my H1B got stamped with an error in my middle name. I repeated my lastname as my middle name so my full name appears as: 1stName 1stLASTNAME 1stLASTNAME 2ndLastname
I have a Tourist Visa also stamped wich is OK. Also the data on my passport.
My I797 is OK and everything else is OK.
I am still in my home country. Should I be worried about it? Should I try change it here or in the US?
In any event, what's the correct procedure to change it?

My PERM was approved in 3 days filed on June 15, 07 approved on June 18. .
I was lucky to be able to apply I-140, I-485 together during the July madness.
Last Month I received an RFE on the I-140 for degrees and reference letters after sending I-140 approved in 2 weeks. Now I have received an RFE on my I-485
They have asked for work authorization for the volunteering and internship I did while on F1. My atty by mistake put these on the G325A form. The internship was a cpt recorded on the I-20 so no worries there. Volunteering was where the problem is. It was working at a physicians office (my dad's office) helping in computer stuff.
What do the Gurus recommend I do. I am worried that at this stage What can we do.

it may be possibal, but thats really pushing the limit of flash. I whoudnt reccomend trying it, but thats kinda up to you. You shouldnt even think about it unless your an expert at actionscripts..

I am in the same situation. My I-140, with receipt date of Dec 13, 2006, is still pending with the TSC. Can you give me details of your pending I-140?
I mailed my I-485 and I-765 last May 25. Until now, no receipt date yet.

I just filed for an H1B transfer in April. My current H1 is valid till April 2010. Just got an email from CRIS stating that my current I-129 case which was approved in April 2007 has been reopened at USCIS determination for review. Is there a problem or is it just normal procedure to look at the original H1B petition? Have transfered H1B before but have never had this happen. Is this something new that they are doing? Incidentally I am on the 10th year of my H1B and have a copy of the approved I-140 based on which we filed for a 3 year extension.

My GC is in EB3 category. I got my EAD in 2007 and renewing it every year on time. My H1B is also valid with my current employer. I have used advance parole while coming back from India. I don't know if that makes any difference.
Last year I have done some part time (after hours and weekend) work for different employer and got 1099 tax forms.
Q1) Does it mean my H1B is invalid or can I still continue to be in H1B immigration status?
Q2) If I find a new employer who is willing to file labor under EB2 then can I continue the H1B status with the new employer? If not can I work for the new employer using EAD and still start my green card process?
Please advice.
